MCD600 What Hi-Fi? Aug’01 *****

"Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet shows the Myryad’s fine grasp of dynamics and the fact that it has plenty of poke low down… The result is an involving performance that tingles the spine due to the speed and sheer power of the delivery… The tonal balance is neutral too, so no instrument is highlighted at the expense of another, and this gives a wonderful cohesion to the proceedings… Get down with the likes of Tupac Shakur’s Changes and the Myryad responds with thumping rhythms and plenty of slam in the midrange… Pleasingly, none of these thrills are achieved at the expense of detail retrieval or image focus – both areas the MCD600 excels in… This is a composed and refined player, rewarding long listening sessions rather than quick-fire comparisons. If you’re looking for a player that puts the music first, give it time and it’s sure to please. "

MCD500 Hi-Fi World June’ 00 Exclusive Review

"The main characteristics of this player are its smoothness and musicality. The Myryad excelled with music played on ‘proper’ instruments, rather than a computer in some fella’s spare room. The MCD500 is especially good with voices. Treble is suitably sweet and bass has, rather than out and out kick, a smooth and tuneful presence. The MCD500 holds its own in the market by playing music – especially classical – very well indeed. You can compare it to performers. Some good orchestral conductors such as Carlo Maria Guilini rely more on richness of tone and phrasing rather than heart-stopping excitement to create a performance. The effects of this are long-term rather than merely immediate. It allows the music to seep into you. The MCD500 is the Carlo Maria Guilini of £1,000+ CD players. "

MCD500 What Hi-Fi? The Ultimate Guide to Audio, 1998 *****

"Excellent drive, good dynamics and lots of detail. The player’s timing creates tremendous excitement as it drives out bass drum, with the lower registers seeming to disappear through the floor. Treble decay is excellent meanwhile, with high-hats and metal percussion sounding sharp and suitably splashy, dying naturally within the mix. Separation is excellent, insuring the instruments are held in stark focus, yet the sound is fabulously full and rounded. It’s a presentation that’s wonderfully rounded on the ear. "

MCD500 Gramophone May ’98 Exclusive Review

"Myryad’s ability to design competitive middle range products was beyond doubt. The MCD500 demonstrates how it raises its game for the next rung up the ladder. The MCD500 deserves to be heard if you’re in the market for a CD player priced just into four figures. "

MCD500 Hi-Fi Choice Feb’ 98 Exclusive Review

"The longer you listen, the more you appreciate its beauty, its sheer musicality. You find yourself listening more to the music and less to the mechanics of its reproduction. If it seems a little premature to be thinking about your last CD player, take a listen to the MCD500. A long one. "

MCD200 What Hi-Fi?, March ’03 **** Supertest

"a striking-sounding player for the money, with solidity of build to back up its performance… a powerful, upfront and exciting sound; solid value for money… the MCD200 goes about everything with equal ability… the weight of delivery is backed with plenty of ambience and insight "

MC100 International Record Review Jul’ 00 Exclusive Review

"The care that has gone into all aspects of this design is evident in its performance. Here is a detailed and musical sound, offering a strong sense that one is hearing exactly what is on the disc, without either embellishment or compromise. Like the MI120 it gives an impression of ungilded neutrality, again excelling at subtle nuances and treble detail, which always remains focussed and avoids harshness. "

MC100 Stereophile Jan’ 98 Exclusive Review

"The Myryad MC100’s measured performance indicates a truly well-engineered CD player, with genuine high resolution and excellent control of non-linearities and jitter. Color me impressed. Myryad’s MC100 is a well-engineered, well-made, excellent-sounding, thoroughly modern CD player. "

MC100 Audio & Video Lifestyle Magazine Dec’ 97 Exclusive Review

"It’s the sort of CD player you can listen to endlessly without the sound ever getting on your nerves. It blends warmth, detail, clarity, weight and drive in just the right proportions. Few players at this price are as competent in all these respects as the Myryad MC100. So if you’re after a new CD player that’s built well, looks very expensive and sounds great with all sorts of music, the MC100 is such a machine. "

MC100 Home Theater & High Fidelity Nov’ 97 Exclusive Review

"If you’re in the market for a CD player in this price range, or even somewhere slightly below or not so slightly above, I really think you should audition the MC100. I’m not one to rave, but I really like it. "

MC100 Q Magazine Apr’ 97 Exclusive Review

"Bold and exciting but never out of control, the MC100 is a highly desirable status product, both in terms of aesthetics and sound performance. If coupled with its sympathetically designed amplifier, the MI120, it has the makings of a conversation-worthy system. "

MC100 Hi-Fi Choice Feb’ 97 Exclusive Review

"The sheer maturity, composure and all-round compatibility of the MC100 ensures its recommendation. "

MC100 Gramophone Feb’ 97 Exclusive Review

"The sound quality of the MC100 is a testimony to the attention to detail manifest in the technical design, and remarkable at the price. It is unquestionably worth auditioning at its price, being worthy of comparison with machines on the next rung up the monetary ladder. Highly musical, sympathetic to all kinds of material and easy on the ear. "

MC100 Hi-Fi News Dec’ 96 Exclusive Review

"Its implementation and fine sound quality demonstrate a great maturity borne, no doubt, of the designer’s extensive experience. As such, the MC100 is one player that adamantly refuses to fly by the seat of its pants, keeping all four feet planted firmly on the ground while trading a little musical drama for the relative safety of a neutral steadfast composure. Clearly Myryad is a name to watch for the future. "

MC100 What Hi-Fi? Nov’ 96 *****

"A superb player at the price, capable of all the detail and drive you might need but also with a sonic character that you can listen to all night long. Add to this the design that makes it stand out aesthetically from your standard black box crowd, and Myryad has another winner. "

MC100 Australian Hi-Fi Dec’ 96 Exclusive Review

"There’s no doubt that those who buy a Myryad MC100 are paying a premium for the superb build quality, the trendy, designer-like cosmetics and the relative exclusivity of ownership, but these are attributes that will bring joy forever. You certainly won’t be able to gripe about the sound quality, which is simply excellent. "

MDV200 Essential Home Cinema Feb ’02 Exclusive Review

"Showing a talent for versatility, the MDV200 is capable of playing a wide range of disc formats : so impressive in DTS that we’re planning to hassle UK film distributors for more DTS discs! Simple to use, easy to set up and offering quick menu navigation, the MDV200 certainly warrants the price tag afforded to it… Superb performance, excelling both in audio as well as video… 5-Stars and ‘Best Buy’ rating. "

MDV200 DVD Monthly Feb ’02 Exclusive Review

"An imposing and impressive player in a class of its own… The picture quality is superlative, beautifully toned naturalistic colours, real depth to the visuals throughout : the sound is also excellent, with well-toned bass signals and crisp pitch throughout its broad range : superb Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound… Final Verdict: If you can justify this much on a player, then this is the one to choose. Absolutely stunning picture and top quality audio output. 10 out of 10."

MDV200 DVD-Review Feb ’02 Exclusive Review

"The Myryad certainly feels like a quality player… It dazzled us with a picture performance that’s only been surpassed by Arcam’s DV27 (which costs 60% more!)… Final Verdict: Superb performance, excelling in all areas…. Rating: 9 out of 10. "

MDV200 Total Film Oct’ 01 Exclusive Review

"Myryad is highly rated by the home cinema fraternity for its surround-sound processors and amplifiers… It’s now muscling into the DVD market with this high-end player… It feels seriously solid and impervious to all those vibrations that can sometimes cause image and audio distortion… Video images were fine… The on-screen display menus are also refreshingly easy to negotiate… Where this player excels is its audio performance… "

MT100 Stereophile Nov’ 99

"The MT100’s sleek, snazzy, art deco design and functional and elegant construction were stunning. External finish, appearance, shielding, internal circuitry and component quality are very good to excellent. This FM tuner should provide years of trouble-free reception. The MT100 provided easy, intuitive tuning. Soundstaging was wide, with good localization. In a taped interview on WQXR, musician Hillary Hahn’s voice sounded startlingly real, as if she were in the room. The MT100 provided convenient remote-control tuning, sorted out the stronger stations and, using its automated circuitry, could pull in weaker signals when not too much multipath was present. For less than $900, the MT100 provides elegant styling, convenient tuning, and the opportunity to enjoy the myriad opportunities of the FM world. For this, the MT100 is definitely recommended. "

MT100 Gramophone Oct’ 98

"Full marks then to this Myryad design. If you seek an FM stereo source of impeccable performance and extreme simplicity of operation, look no further. "

MI240 Secrets of Home Theater and High Fidelity Aug’ 01 Exclusive Review

"My tests indicated excellent bandwidth performance… The chassis and PCB quality appear to be very high. Frankly, I am surprised that it is only the price that it is…. The remote control is a Home Theater Master SL-9000 that has been programmed and monogrammed specifically for Myryad. I am pleased to see a hi-fi manufacturer taking this approach, using a good accepted standard, rather than supplying their own specific design that might or might not be easy to use… Having listened to some very high end, very expensive (over three times the price) power amplifiers recently, I was quite surprised to hear how well the MI240 measured up… In all cases, the amount of delicate detail that came through was nothing short of amazing, and it was all very clean. The MI240 is truly a fine product. The MI240 is an exemplary audio product. It meets all the standards of Secrets; it looks great, sounds terrific, is built well, easy to set up and use, and it has strong value for the dollar. Listen to one even if you are not in the market. You will be as impressed as I was. "

MI240 Hi-Fi World Aug’01 Exclusive Review

"The MI240 is a real John Surtees of an amp – able to drive anything – the power amplifier section is based closely on the company’s MA240 dedicated Power Amp… When it comes to sound quality, it’s best to think of the MI240 as a separate pre-power amp combination in one chassis… Music was produced with more than ample power and dynamics with an overall transparent and deep sound… Rock music was well controlled in the nether regions. The MI240 showed plenty of power and control and gave a clear and extended sound that was undeniably impressive… The MI240 is well worth a listen for anyone on the hunt for a big time integrated. The competition in the market is strong, but the Myryad demands a listen. It has insight and detail with good bass and a sweetish treble. With classical, it’s insightful and detailed with a strong hold on line and pulse to make it a worth all rounder… Mix these sonic traits with the advanced electronic user facilities that are actually useful as well as easy to use and you have a package that can be highly recommended… A powerful and detailed sound that’s easy to live with, plus great flexibility and features. "

MI240 What Hi-Fi? Apr’ 01 First Test

"Power, poise and punch a-plenty; deep rich bass and beautifully controlled treble. The pre-amp is designed for wide bandwidth and low noise, making it suitable for sources such as DVD-Audio and Super Audio CD, and facilities include a balance control and adjustable input sensitivity. By any standards this is an impressive amplifier… it impressed with its combination of might clout and total unflappability, giving music an air of confidence and control it’s hard not to admire. Thumping basslines, stinging percussion and multilayered samples are all rock solid and crystal clear… orchestral forces have fine substance and slam… it’s a delicious, stirring sound that can be truly spine-tingling. "

"Integrated amplifiers are making a comeback. To capitalise on this pragmatic category, Myryad Systems has designed a handsome component that’s so attractive it’s tempting to buy two. "

MI120 Audio Shopper Internet Exclusive Review

"The Myryad MI120 makes a propitious, grand debut. It is an integrated amp that I have grown to respect and like. While it cannot shed its transistor heritage, it is eminently enjoyable to listen to. It sounds much more powerful than its 60 wpc rating would have you believe. It’s simple to operate, convenient (especially with its remote control) and soothing to look at. The MI120 deserves three and a half clefs, and is highly recommended. "

MI120 Lyd & Bilde (Norway) Oct’ 96 Integrated Amplifier of the Year

"Price, design, sound quality work together to give us a glimpse of the most sacred realm of sound. The tonal structure is beautifully balanced and homogeneous. Across the entire sound spectrum it is extremely neutral. "

MI120 Gramophone Jun’ 96 Exclusive Review

"The Myryad MI120 offers a distinct character of sound, one whose obvious sophistication will win it many friends, as will the quality of its construction and its remote control capability. "

MI120 High-End Journal (Singapore) No. 14 Exclusive Review

"Overall, I would say that the Myryad is a very well built amplifier that’s outstanding value for money. Given the convenience of the remote plus the asking price, one can hardly fault this amplifier. For those of you looking for an entry level integrated amplifier, I would advise you to put the Myryad on the top of your audition list. "

MI120 Australian Hi-Fi Mar’ 96 Exclusive Review

"On any basis, the Myryad MI120 is a genuinely class act that will no doubt send a shiver down the spines of its competitors…… I have put the MI120 on my list of “Most Memorable Audio Events of ’96” yet, as I write, it’s only February! Nuff said. "

MI120 Hi-Fi Choice Mar’ 96 Exclusive Review

"Perhaps, however, the most appealing quality this amplifier demonstrated, especially through the Ruark Icons, was a midrange that was open enough to satisfy all but the most fussy of folk. Voices were nothing short of superb for a system of this price. Oh, and the MI120’s volume control, which combines cool looks with practicality, easily deserves to win the “Knob of the Year” award. "

MI120 What Hi-Fi? Jan’ 96 *****

"Soundstaging and instrument/vocal clarity is highly impressive…. The Myryad will, when suitably partnered, capture your attention and hold it as long as you want to listen. And then a bit longer. …..the sound quality is certainly beyond question. "

MI120 Hi-Fi News Jan’ 96 Exclusive Review

"In a carefully chosen system, the Myryad is a thoroughly rewarding amp, with a dynamic range that seems to exceed its rated power thanks to a clean and controlled performance right up to its limits. It is also easy to use, beautifully styled, well built and reasonably priced. If that isn’t a recommendation, I don’t know what is. "

MI120 & MA120 High-End Journal (Singapore) No.15 Exclusive Review

"On its own, the MA120 sounded very similar to the MI120, but it was in a bi-amp configuration that the system sang. I tried to concentrate on the sound but I kept drifting off, lured by the music. The improvement brought by the biamping is truly incredible and at this price, even I could afford one. "

MI120 & MC100 International Record Review July’ 00 Exclusive Review

"The MI120 is a very sophisticated unit for the price….. Its looks, design principles and audio aspirations all belong in a higher price bracket. This is reflected in the sound as well. There is ample power in reserve for most applications, and the MI120 uses it to deliver great clarity and detail. I found it notable for sweet string sounds and excellent handling of high frequency detail, but it has a smoothness that also extends well down. Like the MI120, the MC100 gives an impression of ungilded neutrality, again excelling at subtle nuances and treble detail, which always remains focussed and avoids harshness. As a pair these units work well together….. Simplicity and attention to detail characterize both designs and the way they deliver the music. Both are highly commendable. "

MP100 Gramophone Dec’ 97 Exclusive Review

"It is an example of thoughtful design that other audio electronics manufacturers would do well to emulate. In the right system context this preamplifier, like its partnering components, is difficult to better at the price, particularly if you seek a sound free of self-conscious euphony. "

MP100 & MA120 What Hi-Fi? Oct’ 98 *****

"Effortless control, thrilling sound. Even with a big, surging orchestral passage the Myryad is never unsettled, punching out stabs of brass and thundering percussion without letting the strings become harsh or brittle. There is a superb feeling of space and scale in its soundstaging. They rock with a vengeance too. "

MP100 & MA120 What Hi-Fi? Oct’ 97 *****

"Bags of space, scale and power – that’s the sleek-looking Myryad combo. The performance here is much as you’d expect from the company’s products to date, but more so: a well-balanced, vivid and thrilling sound, with the clarity of the preamp and uprated power amp giving an impression of limitless power and effortless control. Slick in use and offering serious performance, they’re a sparkling addition to the established British amp favourites. "

MP100 & MA240 What Hi-Fi? Aug’01 *****

"Under that classy exterior lurks a beast capable of brute power… Excitement is not just on the menu – it’s the dish of the day… The Myryad duo is so well rounded, it doesn’t skimp on the subtle stuff. On low-key tracks it responds with clarity and finesse… For such a powerful amp, the MA240 has a surprisingly light touch and it handles vocals with real delicacy… Build and finish are superb on both components… The sheer thoroughness of this amplifier’s construction is fantastic even at this price level… Overall, this MP100/MA240 combo is extremely impressive. It’s capable of driving just about any speaker to high levels and can produce a sound that has powerful dynamics, authority and insight. It’s a very strong all-round sonic package. "

MP100 & MA240 Hi-Fi Choice (Recommended) Mar’ 00 Comparative Test

"Within seconds of starting the first track through these amps, I wrote “very engaging and immediate” in my listening notes – and that’s not a bad summary. But please don’t think that the sound is only “immediate”; it stands up very well to the long-term test too and with a most gratifying absence of grain or hardness it positively encourages protracted listening sessions. There’s just the slightest hint of fruitiness in the bass, which makes for a sound in which one can really wallow, especially when the volume is turned up. If you value real accuracy to the musical event, plus smart finish and impeccable manners, this duo should be high on your auditioning list. Firmly recommended. "

MP100 & MA240 Hi-Fi + Nov/Dec 2000 Exclusive Review

"The Myryad pre/power combination works. It’s like a ride in a big BMW. It is smooth, it is powerful, and it has enough power to provide all the necessary excitement you might require. The people at Myryad should congratulate themselves on producing a good-looking, great sounding, exciting combination. I haven’t seen the rest of the range, but if it is as good as the MP/MA240 combination, I should think that I could have quite a bit of fun with it. "

MP100 & MA240 Hi-Fi News Apr’ 00 Exclusive Review

"Myryad’s ultra-clean styling is complemented by very high build quality…. Myryad must be proud of its distortion achievement with the MP100, for which a figure of 0.0001% is quoted…. The MP100 is so technically perfect that at times you wondered if it was on line at all! On all relevant parameters – noise, distortion and the like – it was state of the art. Its high frequency behaviour was so good that it would be passed immediately for SACD and similar high sampling rate digital replay formats. The frequency response was so flat that the graph wasn’t worth printing…. These products are so well designed from an engineering viewpoint, that the lab results were almost flawless. They reflect the designer’s long experience in audio electronics. "

MP100 & MA240 What Hi-Fi? Mar’ 00 *****

"Fire up this powerful pair and the results are mightily impressive, not in the sense that it hypes up the music or makes it more exciting than it should be. Rather, this combination shows its class by passing what seems a purer musical signal than the other designs in the group (Cyrus aCA7/PSX-R/Power; Linn Wakonda/LK140; Naim NAC 92R/NAP180). And its not just the excellent performance that recommends this duo – build and finish are of a very high quality, too, making it a must-audition at the price. This duo takes the group crown for its exceptional transparency, power, dynamics and styling. "

MDP500 (G6) Home Entertainment April ’03 *****

Its performance is clean, detailed and dynamic, with a wide and stunningly three-dimensional soundstage that makes you wonder why you need any more channels. However, it becomes clear as soon as you slip in a multi-channel disc. This processor plays sounds honestly, cleanly and with less of a self-imposed character than any component at this price deserves to…. When you casually sit through all four discs of the Lord of the Rings box set, and then reach for the Godfather trilogy, you know you’re using a high quality, impressive product…. This processor’s sonic performance places it right at the top table of AV gear, alongside the sort of competition that costs considerably more. It’s really that good!… The MDP500(G6) positively revels in its lack of extraneous facilities. All you get is all you need for music and movies. Simplicity at its best… Words really cannot describe how good this product is in both two- and multi channel modes. It’s beyond excellent!… Do you need all those surplus features when the sound is what matters? If not, you’ve saved money and bought the Myryad… The MDP500(G6) is a stunning upgrade on a processor that really cuts the musical mustard and sounds excellent in cinema modes too. The Myryad really is worth every penny.

MDP500 (G6) Essential Home Cinema Dec. ’02 *****

With a perpetually faultless display, the MDP500 G6’s role at the heart of a home cinema system is one to savour… The G6 upgrade takes this preamplifier to a whole new level; the new DSP module delivers a whole canyon of decoding potential… The minimal intrusion of manual controls and the smart black band housing the blue-lit LCD maintains the almost effortless air of style and elegance that encompasses the whole Myryad range… The signal was always crystal clear and sharp enough to burst balloons. The bass management system also does a great job of integrating the low-level sounds by allowing the subwoofer to use its own filtering system… If you’re serious about home cinema and demand the best audio performance at this price, the MDP500 G6 is worth every penny…

Its looks are as sleek and attractive as we have come to expect from Myryad, but this is far more than just a pretty face… It’s clever and easy to get along with, and it looks to the future… Sensibly over-specified to cope with further developments, and with a learning remote geared to controlling six other products… Even with a low-end CD player, the MDP500’s internal DACs produce excellent drive in the midrange, a real sense of spaciousness at the top end, and more bass than the analogue inputs… Used for movies, the Myryad delivers well-integrated, gutsy effects shifts to create a sound full of detail and life… It’s hugely impressive

MDP500 Stereophile Sep ’01 Exclusive

On analog, clarity without glare or brightness…. On digital, the MDP500 was elevated into an entirely glorious realm of transparency and openness… Consistent power and warmth from all the players tried… With DTS or Dolby Digital CDs and DVDs the Myryad’s decoding was stable and clean… A bang-up product which performed all tasks with grace and style, and the audio and video produced were first-rate.

MDP500 Stereophile Guide to Home Theatre Nov’ 00 Exclusive Review

"With DVD as the primary source, the sound had clarity, openness, crisp transients and a generally neutral tonal balance that leaned just slightly towards brightness. Speaking voices were reproduced without excessive sibilance, and well-recorded 5.1 soundtracks had a convincing sense of sonic envelopment and discreete directional effects. Music itself, as part of a sound-track or from a CD, was reproduced with accurate tonal balance, good timbral accuracy, and appropriate dynamics. While it’s hard to know what the future holds for DVD-A and SACD, Myryad’s inclusion of a high-quality 7.1-channel analog path goes a long way toward ensuring that Myryad owners won’t be left behind by changes in technology. Myryad Systems’ stated objective is to create and market products that provide “outstanding performance, graceful aesthetics, first-class reliability, and exceptional value for money”. With the MDP500, I’d say they’ve met that goal. "

MDP500 What Hi-Fi? Awards 00 Best Buy

"Myryad’s processor is a winner all the way. A fine hi-fi preamplifier and one that happens to be excellent at multi-channel sound processing to boot. It’s a winning combination. "

MDP500 Widescreen Review Sep’ 00 Exclusive Review

"My initial impression of the Myryad’s sonic reproduction was that the tonal values were exemplary, and from listening to 5.1 channel source material the sound had an impressive neutral character. This neutrality would lend especially well when listening to movies at reference level, and I found that re-equalization was seldom a necessity. In my opinion, these observations make this unit a noteworthy candidate for quality film sound reproduction….. The Myryad’s performance compared particularly favourably to the Lexicon MC-1…… with the Myryad actually having a slightly enhanced bass presence over the MC-1…. For the home theatre enthusiast who is looking to make an entry into high-end audio, the MDP500 should be a strong contender,,,. Substantial value for the money. "

MDP500/MA240/MA360 Hi-Fi Choice Jun’ 01 Exclusive Review

"The Myryad pre-power combo is a star performer all round. Its open and spacious sound makes for top flight music in any format, and its gut-churning bass depth turns every movie into a very physical treat. If you need convincing of the merits of multichannel music, then Myryad’s superb M-Series package is a revelation. Imagine all that is good about high-end stereo, from the breath-taking clarity to the rock solid bass. Add in a huge soundstage, three-dimensional instrument positioning and a sprinkle of venue-realistic ambience. Brew it all for an hour or two with multichannel DVD-Audio and the result is, quite simply, the future of hi-fi. "

MDP500/MA240/MA360 Home Cinema Choice Supplement 2000. Best Buy. Exclusive Review

"All these products have a distinctive look and, perhaps, more importantly, offer a high standard of build-quality for what is a modest financial outlay. With the cool fluorescent blue display illuminated, the MDP500 oozes class. However, the best part is still to come. Instead of the standard 5.1 analogue inputs and outputs, the MDP500 is a 7.1 design. This feature alone puts to shame the non-existent or dubious upgrade options offered by some of its opposition. Three trigger outputs can be programmed to operate all manner of peripheral equipment. The possibilities are endless, making the Myryad an installer’s dream! As a home theatre system the Myryad is impressive… most apparent is its ability to convey the subtleties within a soundtrack. The processor especially also has an uncanny knack of producing a large and expansive soundstage. Its music/video performance, 7.1 external inputs, analogue bypass and custom installation possibilities all count greatly in its favour. "

MDP500/MA240/MA360 What Hi-Fi? Oct’ 00 Exclusive Review

"This three-box system from Myryad is refreshingly straightforward… simple, sensible, yet hugely impressive, Myryad’s three-box system is powerful enough to drive any speaker system with ease. Full of detail and life when used for movies, it’s also rich and muscular with music as straight hi-fi… An exceptionally well thought-out and user-friendly solution that’s ideal for both hi-fi enthusiasts and home cinema lovers. A winner all ends up. "

Cameo Hi-Fi Choice Dec’ 02 Review with Waterfall glass cabinet speakers

"Hi-fi doesn’t come much prettier than this… for its stylish uncluttered approach to fascia design, the Cameo combo takes the biscuit… head on from a distance, each piece seems as slim as an After Eight mint, but there’s nothing wafer thin about the weight; both units are well built but the amp is something of a hunk – you definitely feel you’re getting your money’s worth… Myryad’s ‘My-Link bus’ allows you to connect the two components so that they talk to each other. Which means single remote convenience and a degree of control intelligence. Press CD on the remote from cold, for example, and both the CD player and the amp power up and the amp automatically switches to CD input… the system’s slick lifestyle touches haven’t been gained at the expense of solid hi-fi credentials; by making the minimum number of concessions to half-pint convenience and gimmickry the Cameo wears its purist colours on its sleeve… you’ll have difficulty tucking this one away in a corner, but then it really is too good for that. A stunning looking combination and a great sounding one too"

Cameo Hi-Fi+ Mar/Apr, ’01 Exclusive Review

"The Myryad demonstrated its pedigree straight away…. Treat it like the serious hi-fi gear it is and you’ll be properly rewarded…. With RDS, auto search and up to 29 channel pre-sets, the tuner proved very easy to use…. I was immediately convinced that the Myryad was a system capable of punching above its weight…. The Myryad delivered the goods with aplomb…. The tuner stepped up in performance much in line with the CD player demonstrating just how well matched this system is…. The strength of these components is as a system. Not only do they visually match but they’re perfect sonic partners, and it’s as a system that you’ll get the best of the remote capabilities…. The headphone socket is so neat that, as I proved, it’s not noticeable ’til you look for it…. It is able to convey the essence, the emotion of a musical performance… What about value for money? No argument, an excellent and well-deserved rating applies…. The Myryad can stand proud. "

Cameo Hi-Fi Choice Mar’ 01 Exclusive Review

"Is it possible to get style, performance and user-friendliness in one easy bite? Ask Myryad. If Myryad’s aim is to introduce such a customer to real hi-fi sound, then it has succeeded. It shows itself to be a clear and articulate performer. Its all-round finesse pitches it firmly in real hi-fi territory, a musicality and subtlety of touch that knocks most pre-packaged ‘style’ systems out of the park, down the road and way, way out of sight. "

Cameo Hi-Fi News Dec’ 00 Exclusive Review

"Rated solely on its audio performance, there is little to criticise even if other components may have the edge on sound at the price. But as a packaged three-box system, I hope this Cameo’s personality will make many non hi-fi people look at the idea of its quality audio. Its blend of soft silver and black, with the currently-favoured blue LEDs make it attractive to the eye. And its sound will not disappoint either. "

Cameo Hi-Fi World Nov’ 00 Exclusive Review

"A large central rotary knob ensures you can’t mistake this amp for anything else than a Myryad. This is a highly user-friendly machine, thanks to the Cameo’s My-Link system. The overall feel is one of balance, treading carefully between specialist hi-fi and mass market appeal in both looks and sound. It’s a successful attempt to combine true hi-fi separates performance in the rapidly expanding lifestyle systems arena. "

Cameo T3 Nov’ 00 Exclusive Review

"You want to know how it sounds? Mightily impressive actually. The 50 watt per channel amp is easily powerful enough for you to have a neighbour-rattling rave and yet has the grace and subtlety to deliver quality sounds from whatever kind of music you chuck at it. This combo sounds crisp, clean and realistic with almost everything. The bass is tight and dreamy, vocals breathtakingly lovely and cymbals sharper than a Stanley knife. So should you buy one? There’s no doubt the Cameo’s an achingly lovely thing. It looks and sounds great and …. it’ll turn your pad into a tune-filled pleasure palace with classy babes flocking to your door. Well, the pizza delivery boy, anyway. "

Cameo Gramophone Oct’ 00 Exclusive Review

"In short, Cameo delivers both sound quality and flexibility. Whatever minor niggles there may be about specific areas of performance, the Cameo system simply sounds better than most of its price competition. It’s genuine high fidelity, which means its music-making skills are spread fairly evenly over virtually all kinds and scales of music-making. From solo piano to Verdi’s Requiem, and for anyone who cares about what music sounds like, this advantage can hardly be overstated. "

Cameo What Hi-Fi? Aug’ 00 ****

"Looks like a designer version of the existing M and T Series…. a fine sounding system, as you might expect from this brand… it sounds fast and detailed and creates big, open soundstage pictures… tight and tuneful in the low-end… dynamic and involving… drags you into the music in a manner which eludes lesser packaged separates… thoroughly involving overall sound… plenty of power… a set-up combining musicality and presence. "

Z-110/Z140 www.audiorevolution.com Jun ’02 Exclusive

The Z-Series is more than just a pretty package… These units are sure to score high on the WAF ‘wife acceptance factor’ scale… I immediately noticed the relaxed, laid-back presentation… For months, people have been asking me for a stylish alternative to the various Bose-like systems currently on the market. I now have an answer: Myryad Z-Series… Based on performance alone, the Z-Series offers serious bang for the buck and the great looks are an added benefit… The Myryad components are comparable with the best in their price class and lead the pack in styling, something to consider if your components are out in plain view… The Z-Series provides solid sonic capabilities in an attractive box at a reasonable price… I think Myryad has a hit with their new Z-Series

Z-120 Hi-Fi Choice Aug ’02 Exclusive

The Z-120 is designed for the CD-loving audiophile who wants a good stereo sound but doesn’t want a DVD player and CD player in the same rack… The Z-120 behaves as a good CD player should and that alone gives it most of its high star rating. It is, for a DVD player, keenly dynamic with an extended, detailed yet not over-bright treble, with coherent rhythmic abilities and a tight, lean bass… It even has an innate sense of timing, a quality that is almost impossible to find in DVD players unless you are fortunate enough to be able to afford top-table prices. Its DVD replay is also very fine… It is good for video and well above average with music – it gets closer than most DVD players to producing good quality CD sound.

Z-120 Essential Home Cinema Apr ’02 Exclusive

A new modern classic from a great British name… Beautifully constructed… Oozes class… A quick peek around the back confirms that this player means business. A full range of connections is available… Whatever the connection, picture quality is very, very impressive… The Myryad sounds great too… A unique feature of the Myryad is My-Link (which it then goes on to explain and praise)… To sum up, this is a very classy player… You would be hard pushed to find better a/v quality at the price.

Z140 Gramophone April ’03

"It has the style to appeal… this affordable amp is easy to enjoy… the amp is built to a high standard, with good power supplies, direct-coupled circuitry and output devices capable of delivering twice the nominal 50W per channel… not surprisingly, the Z140 sounds big, powerful and relaxed whether playing solo instruments or large-scale orchestral works… recordings with a sharp edge or excessive brightness are tamed, making many discs enjoyable rather than irritating… the Myryad is an easy product to recommend"

Z140 What Hi-Fi? March ’03 ****

"Slimline good looks; satisfying, big-boned sound… the Z140 plays music in a rich, warm and generous fashion… very good when a turntable is connected, which should heighten its appeal to LP users… this is an amplifier that will impress without ever having the kind of excessive brightness of forwardness so many seem to find offensive in ‘serious’ hi-fi… many will enjoy the scale and lushness of this amplifier… with its combination of remote control, simplicity, sleek looks and easygoing sound, this is an amplifier likely to appeal to users who consider most amps too big and ugly"

Z-140 Hi-Fi Choice Sept’02 Exclusive

The Z-140 integrated is a slim-line 50 watt beauty with one of the cleanest fascias we’ve encountered… it quickly showed what an extra £100 can achieve if carefully spent. It brings more space, greater realism and more all-round integrity to the party… it has a clean delivery that makes musical lines easier to follow…. the amp resolving the way the player emphasised certain notes to give the music fluency and precision… the Z-140 has remarkable grip and tightness in the bass… it made a very positive impression right from the start… the Arcam and Rotel come close for considerably less money, but if you want an amp that will serve you through several speaker upgrades this Myryad is a great buy… a meticulously engineered, highly competent and remarkably stylish little amp that delivers the goods musically whatever your taste. Not as powerful as some at the price but quality is the name of the game and this has it in spades

T-10 Hi-Fi+ Dec’ 99 Exclusive Review

"One of the Myryad’s greatest strengths is the way it handles music so evenly. Nothing sticks out to disturb the music as a whole. Think of a crisper, cleaner Arcam and you’ve got the sound of the Myryads (T-10 reviewed with T-30, T-40 and T-60). Someone has put a lot of thought into making sure that it does exactly what it sets out to do, really well. "

T-40 Audio Jun’ 99 Exclusive Review

"The T-40 emerges as a sane, sensible, and wholly logical alternative for those torn between the undeniable competence and value of Japanese components and the musicality and rather crude construction of traditional British hardware. But that’s not the case with the T-40; Myryad has created what I can only describe as a near-perfect marriage of Japanese and British virtues. "

T-40 What Hi-Fi? Oct’ 98 ****

"Sonically, the Myryad is really rather delicious, with a gloriously close-up and intimate sound with live recordings of small ensembles, and a great broad sweep of sound when you play orchestral or rock pieces. With orchestral music such as Copland’s Billy the Kid suite, the sound is rich and full, but never ponderous or restrained. "

T-40 Hi-Fi World Sep’ 98 Exclusive Review 4-‘ worlds’

"The Myryad’s features list is full, the styling’s neat and unobtrusive, and the build’s solid. Partner the T-40 with care and you’ll enjoy a blend of power and control with resolution and subtlety that’s rare enough in the class above, let alone at this price. "

T-50/T-70 Home Cinema Choice Dec’ 99 Exclusive Review

"Both items exude quality – the finish and attention to detail of amplifier and pre-amp being of a high standard. The T-70 is an excellent five-channel amp and at its price it is a steal. The T-50 preamplifier processor is simplicity itself to use… and is capable of a level of performance which belies its modest price-tag. If Myryad carry on making gear like this, a glittering future awaits. "

T-50/T-70 Hi-Fi Choice Nov’ 99 Exclusive Review

"It works brilliantly. As a cinema system it’s gutsy and agile, yet brings plenty of finesse and refinement to the party. As a music-playing system, it has an alluring iron fist/velvet glove personality that tackles all styles with effortless aplomb. If corners have been cut, it’s difficult to see where. The intelligence that has gone into this design is impressive. That someone bothered to sit down and think about audiophile needs in a multi-channel world was remarkable enough. That the result costs just £950 all in is something to celebrate. "

T-50/T-70 Home Entertainment Aug’ 99 Editor’s Choice

"As a simple, stripped down and affordable home cinema amp, the Myryad is in a class of its own……it eats most all-singing integrated AV amps for breakfast, dinner and tea, and the apparently low-per-channel power output is partly accounted for by the honest way in which its output has been specified – others take note. Recommended. "

T-50/T-70 Gramophone Jul’ 99 Exclusive Review

"Artfully pitched to slot in between the traditional stereo and home cinema markets…. It succeeds in its aims, and furthermore does so at a very reasonable price without sacrificing flexibility, thanks to its two-box format. A nice one. "
